What To Expect

Las Vegas

All guests will launch from Willow Beach Marina. After a quick kayaking lesson before gearing up and getting on your kayak. You will follow your guide and paddle north on the Colorado River to the picturesque Emerald Cave, for a round-trip of 4-miles. You'll will stop along the way for breaks and wildlife sightings, swim, or just to take pictures. This includes a short 15 minute hike above the River with amazing views and history of the River Gaugers.

As a family we double kayaked using Outdoorster LV tour who provided the necessary round trip transportation from the Las Vegas strip. The river is calm clear and quiet as you paddle a total of 5 miles through amazing canyons with bighorn sheep and bald eagles. You can get out onto a small beach inlet and refresh in the cold emerald water and take a short hike up a bluff for spectacular photos of where you are kayaking. It’s a great half day excursion that you shouldn’t miss.

Beautiful experience. Get ready for some major arm day exercise. Bring CASH because there is no wifi connection or phone service really out there so if you're like me and don't carry much cash and turn your cards off when not in use you aren't able to purchase anything from the store there. I recommend a waterproof pouch for your phone, do not bring your expensive prescription glasses... I lost a pair of 600 Versace prescription when my paddle knocked them off my head causing me to jump into the 99ft water to try to grab them. They sank too fast and then I had to swim across the river to get back into my kayak. Lol fun times. Bring gloves to prevent blisters and sunscreen, a hat and possibly some bug spray to keep the flies away. Amazing experience do not pass it up. Be comfortable by coming prepared. You will swim so wear a swimsuit or trunks under your clothing. The guide supplies water and chips or granola bars. Bring your own fruit or Jerry or purchase other food items from the store there.

Had a great day with JT on the river. Pick up from our hotel was on time, and everything ran smoothly. He was friendly and knowledgeable and we had a great experience on the river with the entire group.
