My wife, 15-year old and 14-year old boys, and myself loved it! We had not kayaked before, and had not planned on it either. We were worried about the cooler temperatures, what to wear, and my wife was worried about getting in and out of the kayak. However, it all worked out great!
We received a call the day before to confirm the agenda for the next day. Then Kevin, our guide, called us that morning when he was on the way to pick us up.
Kevin was great, pointing out things along the way and providing details on the area, on the way to and from the river. He really kept things interesting on the drive!
Heading out, we only grabbed some ganola bars for breakfast, but Kevin pointed out there was a burrito shop next to their business, so we grabbed breakfast there instead. The breakfast burritos were huge, and wonderful to eat too!
There were several couples there too, who were also in there forties to fifties like us, and two of them reserved the two person kayaks. Instead, I reserved one-person kayaks for everyone, which I started to question once we got there. To paint the picture, let's just say that my wife has lost a bit of fitness over the past several years after having our youngest son at age 40. However, Kevin made her feel comfortable, coached and encouraged her through the entire trip, and she was so happy she did! And the boys loved it too!
