Today was our first time to visit the Empire State Building. We were excited and the views didn't disappoint. We encountered several friendly employees but were also disappointed to encounter at least five rude employees when we asked questions as simple as where the rest rooms were. The flow of how to get to the observation deck was not well marked and frustrating for first-time visitors like ourselves.

We paid extra for a fast track pass (6.45 on a Sunday evening, 1hr before sunset) and there was no need as there were no queues. The 2nd floor explanation of how the Empire State was built, and various film appearances is very good but Fast Pass customers bypass it on the way up to the 80th floor. We had to ask to see the display on our way back down and were directed to see it in reverse order. The views are amazing, especially at sunset though it would be useful to have a display showing which buildings and landmarks are visible from each window.
