Overview

Explore the Everglades on an airboat adventure. This tour includes transportation, park entrance, airboat ride, the airboat tour, and free time to walk the park and see all the alligator exhibits. Have the chance to see alligators up close in their natural habitat, as well as the many exhibits scattered throughout the park. This half day tour departs twice daily at 9:30 and 1:30.

Alligators…they are inexplicable! They are atrocious! They are exciting! And above all, they are must see when you are in the Everglades. If you wish to get up-close and personal with alligators then there’s no better way out than taking alligator tours.

In my view, this was a poor excursion. You get picked up from central Miami Beach and are driven north on the mainland for around 50 minutes. You board an air boat and are taken into the Everglades but there is absolutely nothing to see, the ride isn’t particularly enthralling and for all intents and purposes, it’s a little bit boring. After the board ride, you can visit a small reptile area but there are only a few things to see. This was a non-event for us.

This is a private company that has nothing to do with the National Park. They say you can pay when you get to the bus, but they take only cash. Who carries around that much cash?! We saw one alligator on the air boat ride, which quickly dived under water as the boats "scare the alligators". Website touts taking your picture holding a baby alligator, but they didn't let us hold it. They apparently don't pay their employees a living wage because we were hounded for tips at every opportunity, from the bus driver, the boat driver, the alligator handler. Food truck "restaurant" looked gross, exhibits were lame, shop was overprice junk, there are no macaws, peacocks, wild hogs, raccoons, deer or eagles nor is there a star alligator named Snappy. There are no "trails". All of their website advertising is false. I hope there are better options to see alligators in the everglades.
