Wildlifedrive through the back country of the first Preserve in the National Park system.

Smallwood Store

Step back in time and explore the historic Smallwoods Store Museum. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the museum stands frozen in time, a window to a bygone era when the store was the islands trading post and island life revolved around the activities here.

Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park

Nature Walk through a grove of ancient cypress trees out to a "gator hole" where female alligators have been nesting for decades.

Great for bird watchers, easy going daily trip; Rath was an excellent guide through the National Park, knowledgable, attentive to travelers needs, timely, well organized. We love the experience of mixed activities, mixed wetlands ecosystems. We saw over 30 gators and rare birds. A+, though little pricey. We love it!
