This tour was not worth the money and certainly not worth a tip. You're far better off just reading about the market and going early and exploring on your own. It's a pretty friendly place and all the samples we got were available to anyone wandering the market. Our guide was Chip, who focused on the touristy aspects of the market, relayed false information on the tour, and walked extremely slowly to fill the time. He really seemed like he had just read the tourist guide the night before. The food aspect of it was incredibly disappointing. There is no need to come hungry unless your lunch consists of tea, 1/8 cookie, a quarter size peice of smoked salmon, four peanut m&m sized chocolates, and a 4oz cup of chowder.

Hi Joe - just wanted to say thanks for talking to us, and again we are sorry the tour was a disappointment. In addition to the food you mention above, you should have received at least 4 other tastings. The itinerary includes 8+ vendor stops with a variety of small bites, all arranged and paid for in advance. The only tasting we do not pay for is the tea from Market Spice, which they offer to all customers as a free sample. It is possible to obtain free samples from some of the other market vendors, but they are not the same and less substantial than what is provided on our tour. In the description of our tour we mention the samples add up to a 'light meal', but if you don't eat anything before the tour you might still be hungry after. As we discussed, we have refunded you in full to compensate for your bad experience. Hope you will give us a chance to provide a better tour for you next time you visit.
