Expedition South Kona

Overview
See parts of the Island most residents of Hawaii never see! Explore further down the pristine South Kona Coast than any other snorkeling tour company and snorkel at 3 incredible locations including Kealakekua Bay, the culturally significant Pu’uhonua O Honaunau, and a third remote location inaccessible any other way. Perhaps you’ll snorkel at a black sand beach and have it all to yourselves. Maybe a stone arch or a spectacular lava rock formation created thousands of years ago.

Explore sea caves and lava tubes in our safe, exciting, and maneuverable custom vessels designed to get you up close and personal with the coast. Scout for marine life such as pilot whales as long as your boat, Hawaiian spinner dolphins, green sea turtles, and more.

Lunch is provided, as are snacks, water & juice throughout the day. All the snorkeling gear and flotation devices you need as well. You simply show up in your swimsuit with your reef-safe sunscreen and towel in hand and away we go!

Spent the day on Seaquest 5 hour expedition tour...... Best day of our vacation. Went to 3 different snorkeling locations(all completely different experiences), the boat was fantastic, the crew was amazing(so helpful and knowledgeable about the history and marine life) if you had to pick only one ocean activity in Kona to do ...... this is it!

Our trip was incredible! Not only was it a gorgeous sunny day, you could see Hualalai Volcano (not covered in clouds), the vog was gone from Mauna Loa and as we left Keauhou Bay, we could see all of Maui. As we headed towards our first snorkeling stop at Place of Refuge, Captain Bill spotted pilot whales and off we went. We sat quietly for awhile and enjoyed watching them float around the raft and swim closely by with their babies. Snorkeling was incredible at Place of Refuge, a secluded spot farther south and then finally at Kealakekua (Captain Cook). Captain Bill was great telling stories, making our group of 9 (the small group made is so much better) laugh and sharing facts about the island all the while showing us caves, blow holes and pointing out landmarks. Skylar his assistant was so attentive. After the first snorkeling stop, he gathered everyone’s gear and stored it. When we came up to the 2nd site, he handed us our gear (after spraying the masks) and off we went. Each time he greeted us by name and helped us back on the raft. The snack was fresh fruit and cookies and lunch was deli sandwiches and chips. Both were served with water and drinks. I have done many different snorkeling trips in Hawaii and would say this was one of my favorites, if not my favorite and although the perfect weather and conditions were a big factor – Captain Bill and Skylar made it! (Plus they left on time!!)
