My family of 4 (20s- 80+ years old) and I had a wonderful time on our private 3 hour tour with Christian at the Met! We booked last minute, day-of after finding ART SMART on a google search. The company did their best to find (succeeded) a guide that was available to accommodate us day-of, before the MET's closing time on such short notice. I only recommend planning further ahead so you can enjoy an even more personalized experience. The tour was essentially a highlights tour but a bit more personalized as I'd been to the museum many times and had lots of my own personal pieces of interest I wanted to show my family, and Christian was happy to take us off course and share what he knew. Christian was very knowledgeable, charming, kind and even provided the tour in Spanish upon realizing that it better accommodated my grandmother. This wasn’t necessary because she speaks English, but she hears Spanish much better and it really helped make the experience so much more engaging for her. He was able to cater to my interests and needs and work with the time we had available, squeezing value into even the last few minutes before closing time. He took my grandmother’s accessibility needs into account, always searching for elevators and pointing out hand rails, as she was using a wheelchair. He adapted the tour to my favorite works that I wanted to see and showed us new ones. It was a great experience! We would certainly book with him again and recommend ART SMART to friends.

Christian gave our family an absolutely amazing 2-hour tour of the Met. We started with Courbet of post-Revolutionary France and then moved through Manet, Monet, Van Gogh, Cezanne and others. Christian brought the artists and the works to life with stories and details, and taught us more than I would have thought possible in the 2 hours! He kept our pre-teen and teen children engaged and interested. We will all look at art in a new way from now on. Thank you!
