Experience Raptors and Falconry

Overview

A GROUP of attendees are given the opportunity for a unique experience into the life of a Raptor with an up close and personal encounter with Hawks, Falcons and Owls.

With the assistance of a licensed Falconer, you will learn the biology, conservation, field identification, traits, behaviors, natural history, and the importance of raptors.

Following a brief instruction guests will be fitted with a gauntlet and join a trained Hawk on a short walk – witness the agility and skill as she flies from perch to perch while swooping back to the Falconer’s gauntlet.

Kathleen was a fantastic host! She shared her vast knowledge of raptors with us, and was very receptive to our questions. She enthusiastically introduced us to all the birds, guided us along a walking tour to show us her birds in action, lets us hold the birds while she explained them to us, and really help educate us not only on her birds, but on falconry in general. The length of the experience was prefect (not to short, not to long), and I'd highly recommend it for all ages, young and old! If you're new to raptors, this is a great way to learn about them up close and personal, in a small, intimate setting. If you already know a bit about raptors, but want to learn more from a true expert, this experience is also a great idea. Kathleen can customize the experience based on your wants. A great way to spend the day in nature, with nature!

Exciting to be so close to these 3 raptors and be able to handle them. Kathleen enabled us to feel very comfortable and become knowledgeable about these wonderful birds. Every minute was exciting. It was a hot day but both raptors and people appeared to not really care.

This magical afternoon that I spent with Kathleen exceeded every one of my expectations. Kathleen personalized my experience with her stunning raptors based on my interests. The time spent face to face with the birds was extraordinary! Kathleen is a true professional with extensive knowledge and passion about all facets of raptors. She generously shares information with her guests, and I learned so much more than I imagined. I was able to interact with beautiful hawk, an impressive falcon and a majestic owl during my time. This was without a doubt the high light of my vacation, and I will never forget Kathleen and her birds. Extraordinary experience I highly recommend.
