Journey through total darkness in our twisting, turning, world-famous Tactile Dome. There's also a unique museum store plus two delicious places to eat: the Seaglass restaurant, which has a stunning Bay view, and the Seismic Joint Cafe (hours vary).

Located at Pier 15 along San Francisco's Embarcadero between Pier 39 and the Ferry Building, the Exploratorium is easy to get to by public transportation plus there's parking nearby.

This was one of the BEST experiences we have had as a family. You could enjoy this place all day as a date as well. Leave yourself 8 hoursto make sure you can stop and take breaks and also to be sure you can see everything. So much fun and no one feels like we are learning, but wow, we learned so much more than we did in school!

If you’re travelling as a couple without children, don’t even bother. This place is absolutely fantastic for children, teens and young families but as a person without kids, this is a bit of hell on earth. If you’re from the UK and are expecting similar to the Science Museum in London, this is not it!! Their mars room is very cool but out of 5 different areas, that was the only area that really stood out. We saw so many reviews and people telling us to go here, save your money and go somewhere else. Also crazy this isn’t free to the public, all children and families should be able to experience this in California. Only scoring low because it didn’t suit us, doesn’t mean it isn’t fantastic for families. If you’re travelling with children this will be amazing. Shame it’s so expensive tho.

Great experience getting in. Exploratorium is always for kids of all ages. One of our teens, lived going here. Definitely a must see.
