Explore a Simpler Time Smoky Mountain Tour

Overview
This tour meets at the Sugarlands Visitors Center. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park contains the largest collection of human artifacts of any park in the country. Travel back to a bygone era as we visit remnants of an early 1900's town following the gorgeous, yet, misnamed, Little River. This tour is lead by a highly trained and skilled professional naturalist guide who is passionate and knowledgeable about the Smokies.  For your safety and peace of mind, your guides are certified as Wilderness First Responders and in non lethal bear aversion techniques. **All vehicles will need a 'Park it Forward' Parking Pass**

We had a great time hiking with our guide, who was kind and informative! She took us to a trail in the Smokies we might never found on our own (as city people), and was attentive and patient. We took a beautiful hike, learned about the wildlife and history of the park, and got a pic for our holiday card too. Kids reported it was their favorite activity of the trip (this may have had to do with the lizard spotting we did at some of the streams). Recommend!

Ashlyn, a native of the area, was an amazing historical and ecological guide for our hike. We never felt rushed, she was full of woodland knowledge, and we truly enjoyed ourselves!

Guide understood our interests and needs, was very knowledgeable and so polite! Picked us up on time and returned us on time. We loved learning about the bontanical aspects of the national park and the socio-cultural background of Elkmont. Highly recommend.
