Explore San Diego Tide Pools with a Marine Biologist

Overview

Adventure with a marine biology educator along the coast and learn more about wildlife living in the intertidal zone of San Diego. Great for all ages and skill levels. There are some stairs and lots of uneven terrain we will walk on, so this is not a wheelchair-friendly activity.

I taught middle and high school marine biology for more than a decade before committing to environmental tourism! With fifteen years of teaching youth and adults in outdoor education settings, plus my background in conservation biology, provides guests with in-depth (pun intended) knowledge of marine life during our tide pool exploration.

Groups are kept small (10 people maximum, with exceptions for private groups/families) which makes this a more intimate and personal experience.

Great tour!! My grandkids absolutely loved it! Highly recommend! Matt knows his sea creatures and teaches the kids respect for the environment as well.

The day before this tidepool walk, we snorkelled with Matt on one of his other adventures that he offers. I strongly recommend that you sign up for both. They complement each other very well. Matt knew where to take us to see some amazing creatures. The sea slug blew my mind.

My family had the best time exploring the La Jolla tide pools with Matt. Highly, highly, highly recommend! Our time with Matt is now one of my favorite outdoor memories with my family. Exploring the tide pools was so interesting and Matt shared so many interesting facts and introduced the sights in a very engaging, storytelling way. He was funny, friendly, did a great job bringing the group together. Touring tide pools with Matt is a must do when coming to San Diego!
