Explore San Diego Tide Pools with a Marine Biologist

Overview

Adventure with a marine biology educator along the coast and learn more about wildlife living in the intertidal zone of San Diego. Great for all ages and skill levels. There are some stairs and lots of uneven terrain we will walk on, so this is not a wheelchair-friendly activity.

I taught middle and high school marine biology for more than a decade before committing to environmental tourism! With fifteen years of teaching youth and adults in outdoor education settings, plus my background in conservation biology, provides guests with in-depth (pun intended) knowledge of marine life during our tide pool exploration.

Groups are kept small (10 people maximum, with exceptions for private groups/families) which makes this a more intimate and personal experience.

It was a new and memorable experience doing this with my little boy who enjoyed the whole thing! Matt was very patient and did a terrific job of teaching us about marine life! A great way to spend an hour!

Matt was an excellent tide pool educator. He was very knowledgeable and was able to put things in terms that my 5th and 2nd grader could understand. He had some great dad jokes, and we had a lot of fun learning about tide pools. The hour flew by! I’d highly recommend this activity for your family!

It was our first time exploring tide pools and it was great! Matt knows the ride pools and was able to show us so many things we could not have found on our own. So glad we had the opportunity to explore and learn first hand the tidal pool ecosystem. Highly recommend the experience as a great value for money and time invested.
