Awesome mangroves to explore and really fun small island to paddle to. Would do it again! Only bummer was that we got there on time and the staff wasn’t there yet so we waited in our car.

We found this to be the most relaxing and peaceful activity of our Keys vacation. Kayaks, PFDs, and paddles were clean and in good condition. Staff were friendly and gave solid advice on how to best enjoy the mangroves and other places. Highly recommended.

We rented a paddle board and double kayak and had a fun time paddling Tavernier Creek and the Secret Cove. The rental staff were wonderful giving directions and advice and we headed off. There is a pod of 25 manatees in the area, but we were not lucky enough to see it. When we got to the Secret Cove, it is a narrow tunnel of mangroves that twists and turns. You need a positive attitude as you sit on the paddle board for most of it and at times I needed to lay down on my paddle board as we traversed the course. I found it fun and the open cove at the end was well worth it. I got to stand up and spend a good amount of time watching birds in the trees and many jellyfish in the cove.
