There are a lot of rafting companies to choose from. We went with a small company that prioritized safety (only rafting group that was wearing masks on bus), great communication when booking, and let our small group have our own raft. Kirby was an expert guide and his attention to detail was second to none. Four teens and one parent had a great time.

Our family of 5 went on a white water rafting trip a couple weeks ago during spring break with West Virginia Adventures. From start to finish - this was a fantastic experience! The booking was simple and straightforward. Upon arrival, they loaned us any warm weather gear we might need - for us it was only paddle jackets. (This is included in the cost.) We had a great 25 minute drive to the river with a very interesting local driver who shared lots of his knowledge about the area, while our river guide gave details about why the river runs the way it does or looks the way it does. I loved that they made the most of our time! We did the afternoon express trip - about 3 hours. The rapids were great and the rafting guide - Kirby - made it entertaining, safe and fun for all of us. He went out of his way to connect with our 3 boys and shared so much great information along the way. We are grateful to the staff for going above and beyond to make this a great experience for our family. We can't wait to be back! Our kids are 9, 10 and 13.
