First Time Introductory Scuba Dive

Overview
On our late morning dive trip, we visit two shallow reefs (average depth of 30′ to 40′ / 9m-12m). We will see hundreds, even thousands of colorful reef fish. More than 25% are endemic to Hawaii, meaning they are only found here. There is a lot of great coral too, with 40% of our corals endemic to Hawaii. Of course, we can never guarantee specific wildlife sightings. But there is a great chance you will see other marine life such as eels, sea turtles, rays, octopuses, and dolphins. We see turtles on over 85% of our dives!

What an awesome crew! I took the Open Water Diver and later the Advanced Adventurer training with Hawaiian Diving Adventures. I interacted with Andrew, Caleb, Dana, and Evan. All of them are highly skilled, very knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. The students in these courses had diverse backgrounds, and the instructors tailored their advice to individual needs. Everyone received invaluable hints to improve their diving skills. The open water dives were always fun, filled with encounters with amazing sea creatures (the instructors/dive guides kept us entertained nonstop, both pointing out sea life below the surface and providing us with useful information on the boat).

Setup on their website was easy peasy and they were a well organized outfit. Dana was awesome! He was super patient and calm with me being on my first dive and helped me work through my surprisingly irrational fear of breathing underwater. He made sure I was safe and taken care of. We did two dives and saw a pair of white tipped reef sharks and a green sea turtle. Saw a bunch of parrot fish, trigger fish, urchins, a sea cucumber, trumpet fish, angel fish, a rainbow wrasse, a live sea conch and more that I didn't recognize. It was fantastic and I am super grateful that I went with this awesome team.
