Florida Bioluminescence Kayaking Tour | Haulover canal (Titusville)

Overview
Florida bioluminescence is the #1 kayaking trip in the Orlando, Cocoa beach area. We are located about an hour from Universal Studios and The Walt Disney world area theme parks. Our "tourist tours or "visitor tours", as the locals would call them, are ideal for a romantic evening on the water or an expedition in the name of science with the little ones (as long as they are over 5yrs of age). Our tour guides will guide you through the Indian River lagoon and show you something truly magical as we make our way through mangrove trails and the shallow flats of the lagoon.

We will spend a leisurely 90 mins on the water during this tour. You may want to leave the camera at home for this excursion, as the bioluminescence is very hard to photograph unless you have professional equipment.

Absolutely fantastic! We have done the same tour before with a different company and we had a great time, but this one was even better! Pirate was a FANTASTIC guide! In addition to experiencing the dinoflagellates, which were really bright, Pirate made a point to search for and point out lots of wildlife (alligators, manatees, pods of dolphins) and talk to the group about them and their place in the wildlife refuge. He was very informative and also very funny - he really made the trip a lot of fun. We cannot wait to come back out and enjoy this again! Great thing to do with friends and family!

Lightning cancelled our excursion. We attempted to contact about a raincheck as advised by the shore staff - initially radio silence &/or blamed poor cell service, & no response to our email. Upon later trying to reschedule the promised raincheck, they claimed the tour went out & the shore staff mustā€™ve falsified the computer notes for that trip. Word of warning: stay on them rather than trusting their word, or avoid for a more truthful operation!

Simon as we asked you on the phone. Please forward us any communication that stated you have a rain check, and we'd be glad to honor it. You were a no show, as the guide indicated on the manifest on the eveing of the tour. No way to back date falsify anything. If you lost a dispute, clearly you were outside of our cancelation policy. We have a very accommodating cancelation policy. We refund or rain check for inclement weather if we cancel a tour, guest choice. No one else on your tour was cancelled or refunded because they all arrived on time and were checked in. Good luck!

This was a great night time activity for families, or even a solo (me). Our guide would occasionally shine his spotlight ahead of us just to show us just how many fish were jumping out of the water (I got smacked in the shoulder by one). Unbelievable! Our guides, Jeremiah and Josh, took very good care of us (please take care of them when you get back to land). They had us all suited up in life jackets, went over the safety briefing and in the water right on time. The bioluminescence is cool because those jumping fish look like pixies hopping across the water. Someone must have woke up a manatee, because there was suddenly a glowing geyser in the water. One thing I would advise about the clear kayaks; while itā€™s an interesting novelty, I canā€™t recommend them. You donā€™t really see any bioluminescence except if you have some wake to go through, when you may see at the very tip of your own kayak (you see more of it just from your paddle going through the water). The kayaks themselves are very ungainly. Theyā€™re more like a canoe; youā€™ll have no foot pads to give you that extra leverage when paddling. This was especially hard as I was a solo rider in a tandem. I want to make sure you understand that is just the way the clear kayaks are made and not a reflection of the tour company. Whether day or night, if you are taking a clear kayak tour, try to get a partner. I will definitely use this same company the next time Iā€™m in the areaā€¦in a regular kayak.
