What To Expect

Sawgrass Recreation Park

In this private Florida Everglades Airboat tour, your experienced captain will guide your craft across the river of sawgrass and cattails at speeds up to 40 mph (64 km), all under the cover of dark. As you glide across the swamp, you’ll hear the calls and rustling of the Everglades’ nocturnal creatures. Your guide will tell you stories about the Seminole Indians who lived in this wilderness, as well as the panthers, birds, snakes, frogs, fish and bugs that call this national wildlife preserve home. In addition to this fascinating airboat adventure, you’ll also gain entrance to exhibit areas at Sawgrass Recreation Park during normal daytime hours. You’ll see many species both native and exotic to Florida, learn about a 1,000-pound alligator and interact with animals in the swamp yard exhibit. Important Note: Pricing is based on a per person basis; regardless of number of people booking, you are buying out the whole boat for your private tour. All ages are welcome to enjoy the airboat tour. Children 3 years and under need not be included in the guest count as there are no additional charges for this age.

The airboat ride could have been better, try not to get the 2pm tour because the alligators will be in the water and harder to see. After the ride, though, we checked out the rescued animals, and Shame certainly enhanced the experience with his knowledge and stories. I wasn't interested in the tortoise he mentioned, but I LOVED the baby chicks, didn't expect to see those in Fla. I definitely recommend this experience!

Trip was amazing. Our Captain Trey did a fantastic job taking us out, and finding wildlife in the area. During our trip we saw seven alligators! It was a wonderful time for our family. The trip was also very relaxing and safe. Never felt nervous about anything. We also got the opportunity to see baby gators and had a chance to pet them. The Sawgrass team was very respectful and took safety very seriously during the entire time. It was a wonderful experience. Thank you!
