Words cannot describe the experience we had with Captain Dan,but I will try.I formulated a plan to surprise my wife for her 60th birthday, that she would always remember. After researching on the internet for 2 days I came across Captain Dan and his 40 foot sailboat, the Wind Pirate. After looking at his incredibly excellent reviews, pricing, and itinerary options, left entirely up to you,I realized as always, when value out weighs cost, you go for it.Seeing that this venue was completely private and accommodating up to 6 individuals, I thought what could be better than inviting 4 friends to join us.I wanted to completely surprise my wife so I told her a man named Dan,on the internet, told me of a beautiful beach in Fort Lauderdale.I called Dan and asked if our friends could come to the boat first and hide below and then we would come.I didn't know if he would do this but he said no problem. After getting to his house I told my wife Dan had a boat and that I would like to see it,and then he would show us how to get to the beach. After reluctantly going on the boat with me and convincing my wife to look at the sleeping quarters below, our friends came out and sang happy birthday to my wife's utter amazement.Dan played along with this perfectly! With my wife still in shock we were off on a 4 hour cruise returning at sunset. With food and champagne our friends brought at Dans okay,we traveled on 3 bodies of water, the New river,Intercoastal waterway, and the Atlantic. We sailed past numerous homes and everything from powerboats to mega yachts, before hitting the Atlantic, with Dan providing very informative information. His vast experience, knowledge, pleasing personality, and professional responsibility(politely refusing our champagne),taking us close to cruise ships as they departed, teaching us how to sail, letting us all steer the boat, and telling us about his life was wonderful. The only down side was that the water was too cold for swimming and snorkeling, but there is always next time.As we headed back we saw the most spectacular sunset and cloud formations. For the most relaxing and romantic 4 hours I could not have made a better choice. I would not hesitate to recommend this as truly one of the top things to do in Fort Lauderdale.Everyone was so appreciative and happy, and my wife cannot stop talking about a day she will never forget.Thank you Dan from the bottom of our hearts.
