Overview

Your PRIVATE sailboat charter is hosted by Captain Dan, a licensed captain with 20 years of local sailing experience. Call to make arrangements for a private sail. Beginning 4/15/2021 --2 passengers bookings will be semi Private. 4 to 6 passengers booking will be a private group

You will board the "Wind Pirate", a very comfortable 40ft sailboat, from a private residence with parking. Complimentary bottled water & ice, as well as cups, plates and a fresh water shower are provided. You are welcome to bring food and beverage of your choice as yacht has refrigeration.

Your Sailing Charter begins and ends two miles from Fort Lauderdale Beach. You will cruise down the historic Fort Lauderdale New River through Downtown. You will pass millionaires row, mega yachts and Port Everglades set sail in the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. The Captain is always happy to discuss with you various sailing options to design your perfect day.

What To Expect

A Day on the Water

Your charter will begin and end at a private residence. We will board with group pictures to remember your day. Depending on the tour selected, our Sailing Charters are four hours or two-hours. Your host will be Captain Dan, a licensed boat captain with over 20 years of local sailing experience. You will be provided a variety of options based on your groups’ preference and weather. We welcome Anniversaries, Birthday Parties, Bachelor and Bachelorette wedding parties, Engagement experience, Picnics, sunset date nights or just chilling. You may want to ride the bow in a bean bag chair and sip a cocktails, sail in the Atlantic Ocean, or swim and snorkel. You may want to drive the boat under sail and learn how to sail. The day belongs to you. The sailboat is well equipped will all necessary safety equipment; Your Safety is our responsibility.

Cancellation Policy

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

I wanted to take my elderly father out on a special day while he was visiting this Christmas. I lost my mother (his wife) a couple of months ago, so this was his first Christmas without her in 60 years and I wanted a special treat for him, something he hadn't done before. I was a bit concerned about a day of sailing on a proper sailing boat, as he's 86 and a bit fragile, and he's never been on a sailing boat before, but I need not have been concerned, Captain Dan (and first mate Tracy) were SO wonderful with him - friendly and welcoming and they made sure he got on the boat safe and sound, got him seated, helped him every step of the way. Captain Dan was flexible and just followed what we wanted to do - we decided going out to sea was a bit too much for my dad, so Captain Dan recommended just going down the New River to the Bahia Mar area, which took about an hour. It was just wonderful, a nice gentle ride, they had icy cold water, sun screen, and Captain Dan was a great tour guide - we loved going under the bridges, seeing all the mansions, looking at the "Mega Yachts" parked along the side of the river, spotting manatees and iguanas, my dad just LOVED it. We will DEFINITELY do another charter with them the next time my dad comes to town or if we have friends in town. Maybe we'll feel a little braver and actually go out to sea then! Captain Dan and Tracy treated us like old friends, not just like customers, and we feel like we definitely made new friends with them. The boat itself was lovely, very pretty and clean, and it was so exciting, we even saw the Jungle Queen and waved at everyone on board, it was so much fun.

My daughter in-law organized this event for my sons 30th birthday. Captain Dan is the nicest guy. He was very friendly and so easy going. We had the best time ever! :D I plan on surprising my husband for his birthday in May 2019! It was such a great experience!

We have used this charter service several times and couldn't be more pleased! Captain Dan always makes sure we have everything we need & makers sure we have an amazing time. The 50 foot mass makes for an amazing day of sailing or just cruising the canal. Not to mention the really awesome pictures we always take on the bow. We have gone fishing, seen the manatees, snorkled on the reef, hit the city for a night out, & the captain always entertains us with info about the sights. A must if you are in Fort Lauderdale.
