We found that this two-hour walking tour was an excellent way to learn the history of the French Quarter. Our knowledgable guide was able to answer every single question that we threw her way--from French and Spanish history to Hurricane Katrina. I like that Friends of Cabildo is a not-for-profit organization. You can catch the tour on the east side of Jackson Square.

I took 2 friends to the French Quarter and decided the Cabildo Walking Tour would be a good way for them to get an overview. Josh was our tour guide and I learned so much about our history and architecture that I never knew. His facts were always right and he was very solicitous of our small group of tourists. He is a great ambassador! The tour lasts for 2 hrs, but the walking is not arduous, with frequent stops for his comments.

Josh was our tour guide on a walking tour of the French Quarter in New Orleans. Even though it was freezing cold and windy, the tour was terrific. Informative, interesting, and fun. Josh was a wealth of information and no question stumped him. And he tried to keep us out of the wind as much as possible. One of the best walking tours I've been on despite the miserable weather!
