Searching for an affordable and fun way to get out to the famous Salt Lick BBQ and two (2) beautiful Texas Hill Country wineries? Look no further! This Hill Country BBQ and Wine Shuttle is great for solo travelers, couples, and small groups. The shuttle departs from the Austin Visitor Center at 10:30AM and heads out to the Driftwood area of the Texas Hill Country approx. 35-45 minutes southwest of Austin. Enjoy comfortable transportation in a Mercedes Sprinter van with a friendly local guide. Spend 45-50 minutes at each stop. Food/drinks not included in the shuttle price; guests pay directly at the restaurant and wineries.

Tour departs from the AUSTIN VISITOR CENTER located at 602 E. 4th Street, Austin, TX 78701.
Minimum drinking age is 21 years old.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to start time for check in. We are unable to delay the tour for guests who arrive late.
Parking is available in the Austin Convention Center Garage which is connected to the Austin Visitor Center. Enter the garage on E 5th St between Red River and Sabine.
The tour runs rain or shine, however we reserve the right to cancel the tour in the event of extreme weather and/or hazardous road conditions that would potentially affect the safety of our guides and guests.
Guests with limited mobility are welcome to bring a wheelchair or portable scooter on board to be folded and placed in the rear of the van. The vans are not equipped with a ramp or wheelchair lift however, so all guests must be able to step up into the vehicle (about 12 inches).
If you have cold or flu-like symptoms or if you are feeling ill in any way, please do not join the tour.

Duchman Family Winery

Sip award-winning wines while soaking in those gorgeous Hill Country views! Tastings cost $17 + tax/tip (payable directly to the winery). Location subject to change based on availability.

We had a great day out into the hills with Richard for BBQ, wine and beer. Richard was a great guide with great knowledge of Austin and the stops enroute. Cant recommend this tour and the company are super professional. We enjoyed it so much that we booked another one of their great tours for our last day in Austin

My expectations were exceeded on this trip out to the wineries. Brent was personable, informative, and intelligent with a compassionate heart. The time he gave us at each excursion was perfect. Not too much and not too little. Our first stop was at the Salt Lick where were gorged ourselves in meat euphoria. Our next stop was the Driftwood Estate where we sampled wine comparable in taste to those of France, Italy, and YES CALIFORNIA! Delicious! Decadent! I had to buy some wine. Our last stop was the Duchman Family Winery, and that's where I seemed to loose it. As with the above taste comparisons out came my credit card, again and I purchased more succulent wines.Needless to say my carry-on bag had to be checked in. Brent gave us further recommendations to do in Austin and my friend and I took him on his recommendation and it was a perfect to end a perfect wine tasting day with Andrea Magee at the Saxon Pub. Kudos to you Brent and thank you for an unforgettable tour. Texas wines are better then good...they are GREAT!

Steven started off the trip right with some great information on the area and being a comedian, his jokes were perfect to get the mood going. Everything was set-up and arranged well. When we got to places, they were ready for us and it allowed us to maximize our time at the places. Salt Lick had the best BBQ in town and the sauce was delicious. My wife and I shared a plate because we had a light breakfast. There was no way we could have waited until 11:30 to eat our first meal of the day. The Salt Lick wine was a nice pairing. Both vineyards were very pretty and relaxing, likely because we went on a Monday when it was less crowded. We could do a $15 tasting of 6 wines or select a glass and walk around the premises. Steven gave us a quick 10 minute tour of The Dutchman winery and it was impressive to see their operation. Unfortunately, some states have quirky laws when it comes to shipping wine outside of TX so we could not take any home with us. After leaving at 10:30, we arrived home just about 2:30 so it gave us plenty of time to explore Austin during the rest of the day and eat more BBQ!
