From Ma'alaea Harbor, Maui: Molokini Snorkeling Adventure Aboard Calypso

Overview
Explore the natural wonders of Molokini Crater, a volcanic islet 3 miles (4.8 km) off the coast of Maui, on this snorkeling tour from Maalaea. Surrounded by clear tropical waters, this extinct cone is home to many species of marine life, such as fish, sea urchins, sharks, manta rays, and coral. Molokini is a marine preserve, meaning nothing can be disturbed, keeping the island and underwater environment pristine. You'll also explore Turtle Town, and admire native birds. Two water slides, a glass bottom viewing room, and a "leap of faith" are also available if you don't want to snorkel or finish early. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, soda, and juice are included.

A nice way to spend the morning. Good breakfast, snacks, drinks and lunch. We saw whales and dolphins. The snorkeling by Caption Cook was great with lots of scenic views. The crew was very helpful and very informative about sea life. Most of all they are very honest. I had lost something of value to me and a grew member found it and return it to me. Thank You

Was a little apprehensive about how this would all work out, but the crew is amazing, the boat is terrific, and we had a great time. Would definitely go back. The boat allows you to get sun, or to stay inside, and the water slide is a nice bonus. The crew know where to go for snorkeling and to see a few whales.

Some people are turned off by a large catamaran like this because it can hold a lot of people but we decided to choose Calypso anyway because they offered so many things that some of the others didn't and I am so glad we did! The Crew: This crew has got this down. The crew was professional, patient, friendly, and funny. Food: No other Molokini snorkel trips we saw included breakfast with fruit, cinnamon rolls, donuts, and pastries let a lone a lunch that was actually delicious. Both my pulled pork sandwich and my husband's chicken sandwich were surprisingly good! The Boat: This catamaran was in great shape and definitely had a lot to offer. Three decks, three bathrooms, a slide, a jumping platform from the 2nd deck, an underwater submarine style viewing area below the main deck and the entire back of the boat is ladders leading into the water so there isn't a big wait to get in or out of the water. Gear: The fins and snorkel gear seemed new and of high-quality. No junk. The crew of the Calypso were also well prepared for all levels of snorkelers. Tons of noodles, foam straps, etc. I even saw a floating kick board style float with a window looking into the water for a small child who doesn't snorkel to enjoy the experience. Snorkeling: The snorkeling was 'just okay' in my opinion - not as many fish as I expected but that isn't Calypso's fault. On our trip it was too windy to make the 2nd snorkel stop to Turtle Town so we spent the entire time at Molokini. There really isn't several hour of snorkeling to see there so the slide and jump platform was a good way to mix it up. We traveled with our four children ages 12, 10, and 8 year old twins. We definitely recommend Calypso. It was a bit pricier than others but well worth it!
