I went on the Molokini and Turtle Town tour in late August. The employees on the boat are friendly and make sure everyone is safe and comfortable. They also do a good job of explaining the weather, water and a bit of information about some of the neat things about Maui. The water is a bit brisk if you aren't use to it. I would bring a long sleeve rash guard. The snorkeling itself, was not great. They did tell us on the boat that Molokini was not known for its marine life but for its clarity. The water was clear, but there were hardly any fish, and the crater does tend to get full with other snorkel tours quite quickly, I was told to not swim to the side of the boat because they were expecting other boats to come in and want to anchor. Pretty disappointed. We then went to "Turtle Town" and the water was murky. Probably 15 feet visibility. I did see one turtle. What is interesting about this location is there are also a lot of kayak tours so as a snorkeler you have to watch out for them. My nephew went to the area of the water they told us to not go... and saw 5 or so turtles. You can access this "Turtle Town" from a local beach, which I would suggest doing . On the way back to the dock the boat crew passes around an envelope for people to tip them in. Overall a nice boat trip, but not a good water trip.

They first took us to Molokini which was about a 30 minutes ride with snacks and coffee. Song the way they were very friendly and funny and have a little history about the area. We had an hour to snorkel at the crater. Saw beautiful reefs along the crater wall with tons of varieties of fish. After we left here we ride along to turtle town where I think i saw at least 7-8 turtles while roaming around. You get to snorkel at that spot for an hour as well

Stuff was so nice!! Snorkeling spots were the best! You MUST try it if you are on Maui, you will have such a great time!
