Full Day "Drive Your Own Dog Team" Dog Sledding Tour

Overview
This trip is designed for those eager to experience an authentic Alaskan mushing experience -- driving your own dog team!

This is the real deal, which means you are not just along for a ride -- you are an active participant in this adventure. Your guide will give you a lesson on how to drive the sled and then you will assist in harnessing your team for a trip that will take you several miles through beautiful old growth boreal forest to the top of a ridge, where vast panoramic views of the White Mountains and the Chatanika River Valley await.

✔ You drive your own dog sled the entire tour, from start to finish.

✔ You do not share the dog sled with a guide or another person.

✔ You do not have a guide attached to you by a "tag sled."

✔ Our dogs are Siberian Huskies, one of the original Arctic sled dog breeds.

✔ This is NOT a sled ride.

I highly recommend taking a tour with these folks!!! The kennel is located in a beautiful area with trails that go through the trees and open up into beautiful vistas. We were in Fairbanks to watch the start of the Yukon Quest and this tour was a major highlight. Add a tour with Arctic Dog Adventure Co to your trip! You won't regret it :) The driving directions listed on their website are spot on and we were able to get there with no wrong turns. Just be sure to drive slow once you're off the main highway as there are sled dog trails crossing the road frequently.

This was an experience of a lifetime! We got to meet our guide Lisbet and her wonderful dogs. It was -13 F. She helped us by providing warmer boots and gloves before we set out. She gave us great instruction and let us hang with the dogs. We even stopped for a ton of photos. i broke my hand 1 week before the trip but she was super accommodating and let me ride in her sled. At the end she served us delicious warm chocolate cake and apple cider!

We were 5 Girls coming up to Fairbanks in the middle of the coldest Time, for some adventures! After some research we decided to go with lisbet´s Option and it was for sure the right decision! She was so friendly and open, we found ourself so welcomed and included into the experience! Lisbet provided the right gear, including shoes, jackets, snowpants, gloves etc. Then we started right away to get to know our dogs, harrnest them, got to know our very own dogteam (lisbet took her time to introduce every dog od your team) and after a few info facts about how to stand on the slay, we drove off into the Woods! It was amazing! We drove up to the mountain with an stunning few and took lots and lots of pictures and saw an "out of words" sunset. Back at the kennel we had to unharrnest our own team and bring the dogs back to their places! After that we got some hot drinks and cake (*-*) at lisbets home and we shared stories and chitchatted for a while! The memories we made their, will keep us warm for a long time! :)
