I was disappointed that they take people out on this river when there are no rapids. It was a float down an extremely calm river. It was beautiful but very boring sitting in a raft for 5 hours with no adventure. I would not have paid $100 for this.

We are glad to hear that the river's beauty touched you. For others that may be reading this, we always recommend inflatable kayaks for the most adrenaline filled adventures in late summer. Our glacially fed, Wild and Scenic, undammed rivers do fluctuate in levels, and therefore in the size of the rapids. Generally speaking, by the time late August arrives, guests find the turquoise water, red and green rocks, and leaves beginning to turn a brilliant yellow absolutely stunning, even as the size of the rapids drops to milder Class I-II levels. But we would say that this trip is not mellow -- rather, it is still challenging, as everyone in the raft with works together as a team to navigate the 8 miles of rapids. All the best, Courtney

My boyfriend and I went rafting with three other pairs and our guide Will on the full day adventure. Will was a terrific guide, regaling is of the history behind many parts of the Flathead River as we rafted down. The rapids were pretty tame, but the adventure was fun all the same. Easily doable for a family with kids. At lunch time we pulled over and Will put out a great spread for us with sandwiches, pasta salads, veggies, fruits, chips, and a cookie for dessert :) it was all very tasty and accommodating for vegetarians like myself. Even on a day predicted to have thunderstorms and lightening it turned out great and it felt very safe on the water. One nice thing too is that they have plenty of warm layers for you to use so you don’t get your clothes wet or end up freezing for hours on the river. All in all I highly recommend!

We never let a little weather forecast keep us from having fun - we just adjust our gear accordingly! Thanks so much for the detailed review. Cheers, Courtney

My friend and I recently had the privilege of exploring incredible Glacier National Park with Glacier Guides and Montana Raft. First, we had the privilege of floating down a beautiful river in Montana with Paige from Glacier Guides. Paige was an excellent guide, and was clear in her instructions of when to paddle and when to chill. She ensured the safety and fun of our whole group, which included a couple kids. She also prepared a delicious river-side deli lunch midway through our day. Paige shared thorough knowledge of the river and surrounding wilderness. The only reason this adventure would not merit a five-star review was because the word "adventure" is a bit misleading. The first half of the day, pre-lunch, was only floating down a calm, slow-moving, shallow river and did not include any rapids. Post-lunch there was definitely more adventure, as we progressed through about 9-10 successive rapids. However, my friend and I were just slightly disappointed that there were not more exciting rapids. Five star experience, four star rapids. The day after the rafting experience, we embarked on the four day backpacking trip through Glacier National Park - Exploring Glacier. Scott was our guide -- and he was awesome! He shepherded our group of six hikers, ranging from backpacking newbies (my friend and I) to experienced backpackers, making sure the experience was safe, enjoyable, and fun for all while still providing a great challenge. He shared his extensive knowledge about backcountry camping and the Montana wilderness, and always kept the conversations ongoing and interesting. He also prepared some delicious on-trail meals. The meals were something highlighted in the Glacier Guides reviews and they did not disappoint. Cam was a porter for one of the trip participants and he was funny, sociable and entertaining. For the experienced backpacker or someone trying it for the first time, I can highly recommend going with Glacier Guides.

Thank you so much for your detailed reviews of your 4 Day Backpacking and Full Day Whitewater experiences! We'll be sure to share your words with Paige and Scott. Next year, or for other guests reading this, be sure come back in June for 5 star rapids on our undammed, free flowing Wild and Scenic rivers. Thanks for choosing us! Cheers, Courtney
