Browns Canyon on the Arkansas River is our most popular trip! This in an intermediate trip but also not too scary for first-timers. The unique combination of lots of exciting whitewater, spectacular canyon scenery, great mountain views of some of Colorado’s highest mountains and opportunities to spot wildlife make this the ideal raft trip.

Arkansas River

Browns Canyon National Monument on the Arkansas River is our most popular trip! The unique combination of lots of exciting whitewater, spectacular canyon scenery, great mountain views of some of Colorado’s highest mountains and opportunities to spot wildlife make this the ideal raft trip. Exciting enough for seasoned paddlers, but not too scary for first-timers. You will want to bring your friends and family for epic rapids such as Pinball, Zoom Flume, and Big Drop!

Beautiful scenery, a lot of whitewater on each trip, pristine water quality, a feeling of remoteness, a comfortable and dry climate, and a wide selection of options to help you enjoy your perfect trip.

We had so much fun spending the entire day on the river with Dom! He was so easy to talk to and very warm with the kids. Excellent customer service from everyone at TAC. Dom will make sure you have a great time-- he keeps it entertaining and isn't ever in a rush. We stopped so the kids could rock jump, had a leisurely lunch, and pulled over a time or two for a dip. Make sure to ask for the Dom Bob Ross "Dog" water art for a surprise. Sewanee will also take you on a nice little hike up the mountain before lunch for an incredible view of rafters below. The 3 instructors prioritized safety, were super professional, and prepared a really nice fajita lunch. Dom, Sewanee, and Cara were a fun group to float with; Dom's boat offers the most personality, for sure. Great trip, overall -- we recommend the full day as half is not enough!

The Adventure Company’s Brown’s Canyon excursion was a great rafting adventure for a first-time rafter. The full day was about five hours on the river. It did not seem that long. Two hours of rafting in the morning and in the afternoon were separated by a hour-long lunch break - fajitas cooked streamside, by the way. I am usually ready to finish before any activity is over. However, the rapids came in such regularity and were so unique in their look and transit that I enjoyed every minute. It really was living in the moment. We floated the first week of August. Temps that day started in the 40s and warmed up to the 70s. They have wet suits, but on a sunny day, you didn’t need them, as we were correctly advised. They did have neoprene booties for those without proper shoes but heel-strapped sandals worked fine for my wife and each guide. We floated with two other rafts. Karah was our guide and she was spectacular in the way she handled and positioned the raft. She ran rapids both bow first snd broadside first just to position the raft better for the next movement in the particular sequence of turns the rapid required. The way she worked the raft really was a thing of art. We wouldn’t have had an unplanned bump on a rock we didn’t want to hit if I didn’t stroke “forward two” instead of “forward one.” That got Karah an undeserved snicker from the two other guides on our excursions, Swany and Dom. Actually, those guys were fun and talented also. Together our three guides made sure no one got into the water if they didn’t want to be in the water. A couple of families in our group had even had kids who enjoyed the experience immensely. All in all, our experience with Adventure Company’s full day rafting trip through Brown’s Canyon on the Arkansas River was the highlight of our Colorado vacation.

Super amazing day on the water!!! Had such a fantastic time! Our guide Mike A. was entertaining and fun and energetic the entire time. From start to finish he was making us laugh. Even on the bus ride back where we were all exhausted it was a fun time! Love love this company and encourage everyone to try them out!
