This is a trip you and your family will always remember. My teenage daughter and I had the full day tour... hiking into the alligator holes and then kayaking through the Everglades. It was beautiful, challenging and great fun for us. This is one of those experiences that we will never forget and we have the photos (from Garl) as a keepsake. Don't bother bringing your camera or smartphone -- Garl has it covered. The educational piece is also greatly appreciated. We will book again next time we are in FL! virginia and ani

I did the all day (11:00am to 9:30 pm door -to-door) kayak/hike. The walk was several hours exploring a cypress dome and learning about the threats to the Everglades and the animals. April is dry season so no mosquitoes, just a few biting flies. Don is an amazing wealth of info and pointed out all the snakes, frogs, gators, birds etc that we would have missed otherwise. This trek is ankle deep in mud, but wet season I hear is knee deep. A lot of time was spent on bird watching. I am not a big birder so I would have enjoyed a faster pace. The ocean kayak along the mangroves was beautiful-saw osprey hunting, dolphins, rays, sharks in the Florida Bay. Tide was going out so the water was only 1 foot deep in areas. Was also treated to the sighting of the manatee in the marina and several osprey nests. We ran out of time for the second kayak trip, but were treated to wine with the vultures and alligators as we watched the sun set. I didn't mind missing the second kayak as I was tired, but would suggest giving time checks to the group throughout the day so they can be a part of the decision. I can't image seeing the Everglades without a guided tour. I would have missed 99% of this unique ecosystem.

Amazing experience! My boyfriend and I recently returned 4 day trip to Key Largo, Florida. We planned to spend our Friday afternoon doing Garl's Florida Bay tour (4 hours of kayaking and snorkeling). We were emailed on the Thursday and notified that it was too windy for the tour. We were disappointed but decided to take Garl's offer to go on the Everglades tour instead. We are so lucky that it was windy! The Everglades tour was absolutely incredible. We had such a great time that we ended up going back on Sunday for the originally planned Florida Bay tour. The Everglades tour is a must. Garl took us "slogging" in the Everglades...seeing alligators (even baby gators!), snakes, birds, and then we kayaked...seeing many more alligators, a gigantic croc, turtles, fish. We even saw a gator catch a fish! We were so close to this wildlife...but weren't scared at all. Garl was knowledgeable about everything and sent us beautiful photos after of tour. What a unique experience...and definitely the best way to see the Everglades! Our Florida Bay tour was also a great experience. We spent 4 or more hours kayaking in the bay and snorkeling in the mangroves - it was like nothing I've seen before! Add both of these tours to your Florida Keys itinerary!
