The crew was super knowledgeable, and engaged with guests 100% as well as seeing to everyone's comfort *and* sharing knowledge about the sealife of the area. They made every effort to point out all sorts of visual treasures as well as marine animals and birds. We had two Dal's porpoises that swam alongside our ship, and just when we thought we'd go without seeing a whale, the captain got word of a humpback nearby and we got to see it dive a few times! Really, just an amazing day. HEADS UP, though...8.5 hours is a LOOONG time on the water. We probably would have been every bit as happy with the 6 hour cruise. No complaints at all, but if you are wavering between choosing which one to go with, take the shorter one.

We were hesitant to take the longer 8.5 hour tour, but so thankful we did! We had great luck with seeing wildlife (otters, puffins, seals, sea lions, jellyfish, and ORCAS!). While wildlife cannot viewing cannot be guaranteed, the captain and crew did an outstanding job to ensure we had the best viewing of the scenery, including islands, glaciers, waterfalls, and rainbows too! Everyone was welcoming, attentive, very knowledgeable, and happy to answer questions. They genuinely wanted us to have a great trip and made every effort to ensure a top-notch experience! If I did only one thing in Alaska, this tour would be it. Cannot recommend enough. Thank you to Captain Nat, Scott, and Talia for a SPECTACULAR experience and memories that will last a lifetime.

We had some tough weather to start but the real disappointment was not seeing any whales at all. Reading the reviews here as well as the ā€œ95% of the timeā€ language on the website description had my hopes up. Disappointed for sure about that and thought it was kind of odd that the crew didnā€™t even say anything about whales during the trip. Itā€™s like they knew we wouldnā€™t see any. The 8.5 hour journey gets boring when there isnā€™t much to see. Otherwise, the crew was friendly and informative, and we got to spend some time with the glacier (no calving) and viewing the sea lion rookery.
