Our family of 4 (including 2 teenage boys) took this trip and had a wonderful time! I was a little concerned about the length of time that we would be on the boat, but it went by so quick and my teenagers kept busy seeing the sights. Our crew was amazing! they did a great job telling us about the area, the glaciers and all of the animals. And our captain did a great job of getting us near the animals without disrupting them. It was amazing to see Orcas swimming near us then later humpback whales! We also saw eagles, sea otters, dolphin, seals, sea lions, plenty of birds and even a black bear scrambling around on shore. The sailing was smooth though we did take a non-drowsy Dramamine to be on the safe side, and we did not get drowsy. The crew provided a breakfast, lunch and snack. You could also buy other drinks, hot cocoa, coffee and snacks while on the tour. I would highly recommend this tour company and the longer tour for anyone wanted to visit Kenai NP.

We took the 8.5 hour Northwestern Glacier trip on the Viewfinder which sat about 35 people. Discovered that this was the same boat that President Obama had taken so that was exciting. We had Justin as Captain and Clint as naturalist. Was a fantastic trip. Justin and Clint were excellent at finding birds and mammals and pointing out interesting sights and giving explanations. We saw a huge pod of orca, several humpback whales and Dall porpoise which played by swimming alongside the boat.. We saw great alcids and puffins. The lunch was well organized into baskets so no waiting required. Great mixture of wildlife and scenery. We stayed 30 minutes right by the huge glacier seeing and hearing the pistol cracks as it calved into the sea with lots of strange and bizarre noises. The boat was clean and it was great that they provided binoculars and bird guide books for participants. I think they even cleaned the toilets during the trip. Excellent experiences. The pointed out how far the glaciers had retreated over the past few years but did not talk about the damaging effects of climate change which was a pity to show people just how we are damaging our beautiful world.

This is a ā€˜must doā€™ tour! Captain and crew were energetic and caring. They provided pastry and hot beverages for breakfast and a lovely box lunch with sandwiches & sodas. They were also careful to make sure no one got seasick and provided on board remedies if needed. The captain and crew were well educated regarding the creatures we saw and answered MANY questions. Binoculars and bird ID books were provided. The trip started out chasing whales - we saw MANY Humpback and a large pod of Orcas. Then we motored into the bay where the Northwestern Glacier is and stayed to watch it calve multiple times. On the way back, the captain & crew facilitated multiple rare birds sightings. The day was quite cold so wear layers!!Overall, it couldnā€™t have been better. We would definitely do this trip again.
