Ho'okipa Beach Park

This hot spot should definitely be on your "must see" list! This beach is all about action and daring stunts on surfboards! Definitely worth stopping on your way to Hana! Lots of turtles too.

Ke‘anae Point

The Ke’anae Peninsula is a dramatic half-mile long massive finger of newer lava sticking out from the cliff line of the Hana Highway. Well before coming to the turnout, you will have ogled at the scenic peninsula from the many lookouts along the road.

Wai'anapanapa State Park

Waiʻanapanapa State Park, located at the end of Waiʻanapanapa Road off Hana Highway, features some of the most unique sights you’ll ever see. As home to one Maui’s volcanic-sand beaches, you’ll have the chance to experience a black sand beach alongside the ocean.(swimming/hiking/pictures)

We did the private volcano tour for sunset. It was really incredible! Our driver, Scott, was amazing. He had really interesting commentary, as well as suggestions for places to eat, visit, and see. The sunset itself was absolutely gorgeous, but it was chilly at 10,000 ft at the summit, so bring a pair of pants and a coat if you plan on going! The car ride was pretty windy so if you get carsick easily I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s good to do this early in your trip to Maui so that you can learn more about the island and fun places to go. That being said, I wouldn’t do too soon after your flight since it is a good 6 hours of mostly being in the car. The dinner after the sunset was incredibly good. I had the Island Platter I believe but everything at the restaurant is very fresh.
