We were lucky enough to get Rusty to take us down the Salmon for the third time. I bought this one for our 9th anniversary. Rusty took us to his "special" holes and we caught a Steelhead in each one. I caught a record Steelhead at 35 inches and my husband caught one that was 34 inches. We limited out by 1:30 that day with 3 fish each! I can't say enough about what a great guide Rusty is. I think he was as excited as we were. We had an absolutely awesome time.

If you're considering booking a trip with Mountain River Outfitters, do it! We went on a 5-day trip the second week of September and had a most fabulous time. The guides were very professional and a lot of fun, too! They catered to our every need and prepared us really fabulous meals. It was wonderful to be out in nature, away from cell phones and clocks, but not "roughing it" because we didn't have to lift a finger. This is pampered camping all the way.

We love everyone at MRO! From the owners, Brenda and Jess, to every guide we have had (Mike, Elisabeth, Connor, Heather). We did the 1/2 day horse back ride and full day raft trip in 2011. This year the two day overnight camping trip. After lunch the first day, some of group hiked to a natural hot springs picking black berries along the way, while others hung out at the river and played on the paddle board. Then back to the rapids. When we arrived at our camp site, we were welcomed with "River-Rita's" and snacks. Camp was all set up and the clothes we had packed in dry bags were waiting in our tents. Our camp hosts, Austen and Karen, were on top of everything. The dinner was delicious. In fact, all of the meals were very good and had plenty of variety. One member of our trip had some extreme allergies and MRO went out of the way to acccomodate them without any hesitations. Our group was meeting up with a second party that only wanted to do the one day trip (a decision many now regret) on Sunday morning, and our guides timed it perfectly. We came around the bend in the river just as the other rafts were pulling away from shore. Connor and Elisabeth brought us in close for the initial hello's and then it was an ambush of water guns. We can't wait to do it all again. We are aiming for a mulit-day trip in Hell's Canyon in 2014! Hope to see you there.
