Galveston Red Light District Tour

Overview
Return to a time when the mob ran Galveston and their guests were treated as if they were family. When you crossed the bridge you enter "The Free State of Galveston," where the only rules were mob rules. The stars of the era were world class entertainers brought in to perform in the casinos, including Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., and Dean Martin. Everyone was enjoying their own "Vegas Dream" right here in Galveston.

We walked to this bar that was run by mob bosses back then. It was a very interesting laid out bar, the owner of the bar told us a story while showing everyone around. He said that a lady came in, telling a man that she was pregnant. She said that if he donā€™t tell everyone, she would tell everyone. The mob man did not like that, and the woman did not like that he didnā€™t like that. The lady ended up killing him. It was a very interesting story.

I definitely recommend doing this tour when visiting Galveston. Our Tour Guide, Noelle did a wonderful job explaining the history of Galveston, especially the Red Light District. It was so interesting to learn about the history of prostitution, the mob, and gambling during the early Galveston years.
