Galveston Red Light District Tour

Overview
Return to a time when the mob ran Galveston and their guests were treated as if they were family. When you crossed the bridge you enter "The Free State of Galveston," where the only rules were mob rules. The stars of the era were world class entertainers brought in to perform in the casinos, including Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., and Dean Martin. Everyone was enjoying their own "Vegas Dream" right here in Galveston.

Our tour guide, Nikki was wonderful! She was so funny and lively and very informative. My husband and I had the tour to ourselves so it was like a private tour. We had a great time!!

We booked this tour based on the description on Trip Advisor, which in no way reflects the actual tour. The entire tour is about prostitution with 15 minutes discussion of the mob. No discussion of the Rat Pack performing in Galveston. If you want to learn about early contraception, mercury induced abortion and the cost for the girls this is the tour for you. Our tour began with our guide, Rob, talking about the local vagrants, the lack of public toilets and bad mouthing local businesses. I'm not too used to guides dropping the F bomb while conversing. Not thrilled about the glorification of prostitution when we currently live with human trafficking, presenting the facts in a bit more respectful manner would have been more professional. The off color jokes were juvenile and more appropriate for frat party. Hands down the worst tour we have ever been on. Save your money and perhaps try a ghost tour or at least be very clear that this is not a tour about gangsters as suggested in Trip Advisor.

NIKKI was a great tour guide !! Brought the stories to life. She is a very good story teller !! I could visualize the area and the seedy history that went with that area.
