This was a fun way to enjoy an evening tourist activity with family & friends. I enjoyed the stories and bits of history. Thankfully the weather was cool and it didn’t rain on us. I would give this 3.5 stars for a good rating. Price was reasonable. Booking and confirmation was easy. Instructions were clear and reminders sent. Our local guide had good stories but he was a bit snarky which is okay- we all have good days and bad days so giving some grace there. Ways to improve? Can’t think of much because I feel like I got what I expected and paid for. I would recommend it for something fun to do in a small town.

What a strange review. After five years of giving tours, we have less than 1% of reviews with less than a five-star rating. In fact, we have over 600 5-star ratings across all the travel platforms. At the end of every tour, we make a statement to all guests that if they are not 100% satisfied they should contact the office for a full refund. You did not do this. But our guides are required to review every guest after every tour. You are the only guest in the last month to receive an unsatisfactory rating. A person in your group interrupted and was loud and attempted to become the center of attention. In a large group setting that cannot happen and our guides are trained to redirect or confront when a guest is not taking social cues. Not every person is cut out for a big group setting and it sounds like this was not an appropriate venue for you given that you enjoyed the stories and felt the experience was worth what you paid. You even recommend the tour to others but give it an unsatisfactory rating. Very contradictory review.

Steve is the best of the best. I've only given walk and talks on Javelinas and a 16th century French Fort in North Florida. I've been in Salida for 9 years, but he was full of new info. I'm a believer in ghosts, but they're not for everyone. When people tell me they don't believe, I always say "you don't have to believe in them, but they most certainly believe in you." :o) The man was also polite, funny and safety conscious. He really wants you to enjoy your visit to this place. I meant to ask him about The Jug Liquor Store, downtown Salida. I've heard they have activity late on the lift-up cellar stairs. Which are always in the down position unless they are using them. Also, when he was talking about the activity above Currents Restaurant (Only the owner has the key) he mentioned the windows and curtains tend to change seemingly by themselves. I noted the left window curtain was halfway to the side. The right side curtain was pulled all the way closed. While walking back to our vehicle on 2nd St, I noticed the curtain on the left was now pulled all the way to the side (about 25 mins later). The next day on the way to work, I went thru alleys to get near it and it was halfway pulled open again. Well worth your money and time! Adam Miller -Salida, CO
