Ghost Stories and True Crime Walking Tour of the French Quarter

Overview
We couldn't decide if we loved ghost stories or true crime stories more, so we decided to do them both!

You can almost feel the history (and the spirits) as you walk through this 300 year old neighborhood and former Native American gathering place on the Mississippi River.

THIS is the sacred ground where centuries of unforgettable, intense characters have lived, loved, fought, celebrated, made music, and taken their last breaths. Energy like that does not fade away; in fact, it intensifies when we tell their stories as we walk through their streets.
We will share with you the stories of hauntings, murders, rituals, restless spirits, mischievous ghosts, and some things we just can't explain. Even skeptics love this tour, because everyone loves a good story!

The tour is 1.5 - 2 hours and covers about a mile in the world-famous French Quarter. Come after dinner and end in time for a night out on the town!

What To Expect
1
French Quarter
There are over 80 square blocks in the old district, and on every one of them there are so many stories of passion, loss, betrayal, yearning, exhilaration, hope, and mourning. Your guide will introduce you to the ghosts, spirits, and criminals in New Orleans' endlessly interesting past.
2
Royal Street
Royal Street, with its quaint architecture, art galleries, and mysterious antique-filled shops, is the perfect place to travel back in time to the days when pirates, wanderers, scandalous ladies, and dark hearts wandered the streets of this old neighborhood. Your guide will tell you the stories whose unforgettable characters may still linger behind the shutters and in the alleys and courtyards.
3
Mississippi River
The river was the gateway to New Orleans, the place where the restless types - artists, writers, immigrants, traders, adventurers - entered the city and thought, "Ahhhh, finally a place where I fit in" The water holds their stories, and your guide can coax them out and reveal the magic soul of New Orleans.
4
Bourbon Street
Some of the spookiest stories and most notorious murders have taken place on world-famous Bourbon Street. Your guide will reveal the spirits and stories hidden among the revelers and characters!

Scott was an amazing tour guide. He did a great job of including legends, real history and ghost stories of New Orleans. He was well spoken and engaging in his storytelling. One of the best ghost and history tours I have ever experienced. This is a must do if you travel to New Orleans. My friends and I didn't want the night to end.

Wow! This is a beautiful review. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your impression of our Ghost and True Crime tour with the rest of the world. Scott is indeed an excellent storyteller and there are some stories that work best in the darker hours. There are so many ghost tour companies in New Orleans, that we do our best to stand out. I hope you and your friends come back for more of these darker tales next time you are in town. Libby

My wife, special needs daughter Elizabeth, and myself had a great tour with Libby as our guide. Liz loves ghost stories and ā€œdramaā€, as does my wife. We really got more than expected because the way Libby wove the sordid history of New Orleans into interesting and entertaining tales was the highlight. All of her stories are true happenings throughout NOLA history, accompanied by personal anecdotes from her historical studies, digitized photo’s, and old newspaper accounts to corroborate the story. Libby herself does not know how real the hauntings are, but supports them with enough evidence to make one wonder. All along the way, she past on a lot of other history, interesting facts, restaurant and bar recommendations, etc. This was a tour full of interesting and intriguing stories told by a masterful storyteller. The best part is our Lizzy is still telling everyone about her awesome ghost tour! We will definitely choose Lucky Bean tours on our next trip and request Libby!

That was a wonderful tour, and many thanks to Lizzy for keeping the magic going even back home! I had so much fun showing you and your family around the French Quarter and sharing the ā€œdarkerā€ tales of New Orleans’ unique history! I love telling stories, and the nighttime stories allow me to get even more dramatic than I get on my quite dramatic daytime tours. I know you will be back, so in the meantime, I will be learning more stories and loading up my iPad with even more gruesome true crime photos! See you then! Libby

We attended this tour in a small group (5) and had a really good time. Scott provided clear instructions about when/where to meet him and was there when promised. He asked us before we started where our interests were and then adapted the tour to our preferences. He was a great story teller and demonstrated detailed knowledge about the area and history (we focused mostly on true crimes with a bit of ghosts and Voodoo). I also appreciated that he was genuine. He did not need theatrics to make things interesting and that made a huge difference to me. At the end of the tour, he gave some good tips about other places to visit and safer routes to walk through the area. I would definitely recommend Scott and this tour company.

Thank you so much for describing what you loved about Scott’s Ghost and True Crime tour! We and any potential guests appreciate the details in this review. Scott is an excellent tour guide who excels at customizing each one of his tours to the interests of his guests. There are certain stories that are just better told at night, so we are so happy to be able to utilize Scott’s storytelling skills on this nighttime tour. I am so happy that you enjoyed the tour and appreciated our small group, storytelling model. I hope everyone follows your recommendation and I hope you, too, walk with us next time you are in New Orleans! Libby
