Built a year before the Chinese Theatre in 1926, El Capitan originally began as a performing arts theatre, putting on live productions and musicals during an era in which film was beginning to dominate. Here you will learn of the many hauntings said to take place to this day, such as the stories of the manager whose face peers down from a window above the entryway and countless others.

Can't review the tour itself as our guide didn't bother to show up. We'd pre-booked and payed online and turned up for the tour 25 minutes ahead of the required time. When it was clear that the guide wasn't turning up, we emailed Ghost City Tours to let them know that the guide was not here and asked for a refund. At 8pm, I wasn't expecting an immediate reply. To my surprise, I received an email saying they would try to contact the guide and find out where they were. I was told that we were the only two people booked for this tour. We received the refund but no apology or explanation as to why the guide hadn't bothered to show up. Very disappointed as we had been looking forward to having a ghost tour of Hollywood and this was the only opportunity to do so on our vacation.

I really enjoyed that Hale (tour guide) had knowledge of the historical buildings along Hollywood Blvd. He was a great tour guide.

Hale was awesome. He made the experience very entertaining. It was cool learning a little more about the history of Hollywood Blvd. We were in a really great group.
