Downtown Honolulu
In 1809, Kamehameha I, who had been living at Waikiki which was once Hawaii's Royal Seat, moved his Royal Residence to Pākākā at Honolulu Harbor. Soon the area became the center for trading and, after Kamehameha the Great's death, the Royal Residence was moved again to the current location of Iolani Palace. Hundreds of years of history and hauntings reside in this Downtown area. From the Kamehameha Statue, we will walk to several buildings in the immediate vicinity and learn some of the haunted history that surrounds us.

Amazing story teller and experience all around. 10/10 would recommend to anyone interested in ghosts/spirit/history experiences.

I really wanted to like this tour, and Lopaka was a perfectly capable guide. However I had expectations the tour would involve lots of walking to see buildings and architecture, while hearing about the history of Honolulu including ghost stories. The tour is actually an exercise in searching for paranormal activity. We did not do much walking and there was not much historical information provided, relative to what I've seen on other ghost tours. We had to use our phones a great deal of the time to take photos and video and report any findings. I was disappointed as I felt the description of the tour could be clearer as to what was involved. I am not at all intending to disrespect anyone's beliefs with this feedback, it just unfortunately didn't meet my expectations. If you believe in or are interested in paranormal activity you will love this tour. But if you don't, then I would recommend just do a normal history walking or bike tour.

Lopaka is legit! My friend wanted to go on this specific one since he is the Glen Grant protege (he is the original ghost storyteller/Obake tales). I remember reading Glen Grant stories when I was younger. The rest of these ghost walking tour people probably have not trained with the best Hawaii had to offer. There were 9 of us total so it was very intimate. I guess the only thing is I wished it lasted longer and we went to Kawaihao Church and other places around downtown. My friend wants to go on the bus tour next month.
