Alaska Excursions
On this spellbinding wilderness expedition, you will travel through fjords and rain forests viewing some of the most spectacular Alaskan scenery in Southeast. You’ll see everything from wildflowers to towering mountains and top off the experience with up-close views of the Davidson Glacier. Your adventure begins aboard one of our boats custom-designed to provide an intimate viewing experience. During your 75-minute journey through North America’s deepest fjord, keep a lookout for whales, seals, and cascading waterfalls while your Naturalist guide tells you more about the area you are traveling through. Upon arrival at the remote Glacier Point beach, you will take a short, adventurous drive across the forested glacial moraines to our base camp where you will gear up in rubber boots and a life jacket. After a ¼ mile walk, the forest opens to reveal a breathtaking view of the Davidson Glacier and pristine lake below. Here you will board a 31-foot voyager canoe for a trip around the lake to view the glacier and enjoy the incredible Alaskan wilderness while your guide shares his extensive knowledge of the area. Conditions permitting, you’ll make a stop on the delta to get up close and personal with the glacier. This is an optional 1/2 to 1-mile hike over a sand and pebble beach. After returning to the base camp, enjoy a picnic lunch on the beach before your return trip on the custom designed wildlife-viewing boat .

Interesting trip out to the Davidson Glacier. Took a 40 min high speed boat ride out to the glacier. Enclosed cabin boat - a guide/mate pointed out some features along the way. Got to the camp site and got geared up and into a 10-12 person canoe (with a motor). Minimal paddling towards the base of the glacier. Could not get up close due to water levels so disembarked on a nearby island. Fooled around with some chunks of ice and then back to camp. Tour included lunch - but hard to call it lunch - slimy turkey and cheese wrap (ugh), apple sauce and a granola bar - quite gross. Then back on boat and return. Nick our guide was great. They live out at the camp site 6 out of 7 days in cabins - no connectivity, generator,no running water for the summer - evidently lots of bears. Experience was meh.

The guys did a great job putting us on a few whales. We moved a couple of different times to find activity. I nothing spectacular and we didn’t get that close, but sometimes that’s the way it goes.

Beware they will cancel tour at last minute leaving you scurrying around to find something else. We were told on the dock after arriving to our meeting place the excursion was canceled due to low water levels. Another family we learned was told due to high water levels. Regardless this is something they should have known about and contacted guests sooner than at the dock.
