Alaska Excursions
On this spellbinding wilderness expedition, you will travel through fjords and rain forests viewing some of the most spectacular Alaskan scenery in Southeast. You’ll see everything from wildflowers to towering mountains and top off the experience with up-close views of the Davidson Glacier. Your adventure begins aboard one of our boats custom-designed to provide an intimate viewing experience. During your 75-minute journey through North America’s deepest fjord, keep a lookout for whales, seals, and cascading waterfalls while your Naturalist guide tells you more about the area you are traveling through. Upon arrival at the remote Glacier Point beach, you will take a short, adventurous drive across the forested glacial moraines to our base camp where you will gear up in rubber boots and a life jacket. After a ¼ mile walk, the forest opens to reveal a breathtaking view of the Davidson Glacier and pristine lake below. Here you will board a 31-foot voyager canoe for a trip around the lake to view the glacier and enjoy the incredible Alaskan wilderness while your guide shares his extensive knowledge of the area. Conditions permitting, you’ll make a stop on the delta to get up close and personal with the glacier. This is an optional 1/2 to 1-mile hike over a sand and pebble beach. After returning to the base camp, enjoy a picnic lunch on the beach before your return trip on the custom designed wildlife-viewing boat .

Our boat ride was extremely informative and full of wildlife - bald eagles, seals, sea lions and ravens as well as gorgeous scenery. After arriving on the beach close to Davidson Glacier we were met by guides who took us to the staging area where they outfitted us with boots, life jackets and paddles. We hiked to the river where we boarded our canoes and paddled and enjoyed motorized help getting to the glacier landing. It seemed like we were almost on top of the glacier but it actually took about 15 minutes to get to the base. It was unbelievable being able to stand that close to one of nature's most beautiful creations! After plenty of time to soak it all in and take plenty of photos we paddled back to the forest camp. It seems very strange to have to walk through a rain forest to get to a glacier base but that's one of Alaska's amazing draws. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone.

This tour was amazing. Started with an hour boat ride with fantastic views to a remote island where we took a bus ride for about 10 minutes to a beautiful forest. We were suited up with life jackets, boots & oars by staff then hiked about 1 mile to a river. Canoes were waiting for us at the shore of an awesome glacier. 10 of us plus 2 guides paddled to the glacier where we got out & explored for about 1 hour. Everything about it was excellent. The staff was delightful & worked wonderfully as a team. Very knowledgeable as well. Picnic lunch was served on the way back. It was a long day but well worth every minute.
