Grand Canyon Aerial Tour (AIR)

Overview

Begin your air tour with a one hour flight from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon. Along the way, enjoy the view from the air as you pass over the Tonto National Forest; make a scenic pass through the Red Rock formations of Sedona; and soar past the San Francisco Peaks, Painted Desert and the Navajo Indian Reservation before arriving at the Grand Canyon.

Continuing right over the Rim, you begin the scenic overflight of the Grand Canyon’s widest and deepest point, on a route that only a few are allowed to fly. This 20-30 minute overflight of one of nature’s most spectacular sights will give you a view of the Grand Canyon seen by only a handful of people as you fly 1,000 feet above the south rim and about equal to the north rim. After completing the overflight of the Grand Canyon, enjoy a short, one hour flight back to Phoenix by a more direct route.

Seeing the Grand canyon from the air was an amazing, breathtaking way to appreciate the beauty of this work of art! Karla was a great pilot and we felt safe and confident in her abilities. Lindsay was super helpful to make sure we were able to fly within our scheduled time.

The staff with Westwind were first class. The flight was absolutely breathtaking. We were very confident with the pilot,Carla and Bill. This flight was worth every penny and the ground tour with Wild Bill was excellent.

The entire event was terrific I could not put out any specific thing. However our pilot, Max’s, made the whole flight incredibly interesting. His demeanor, personality and flight experience/technical know-how were superb! My wife and I were quite fortunate to have been the only two aboard this spacious airplane. Initially, upon approaching the West Wing counter, Daneen, the receptionist/tour coordinator made us feel very, very welcome. I have a few problems with claustrophobia so she called the pilot in and he graciously took us out to the airplane so that I could get a feel for it. Feeling positive about the aircraft spaciousness with it we found ourselves flying out the next morning at 9:30. We had a great time We would normally not spend that much money on a tour but we are definitely blessed having done so, the Grand Canyon, From the air, is a vastly different place. You definitely get caught up in its beauty and immenseness.
