We had a great time on this tour! Mary was our driver and guide, and she was fantastic. She has such enthusiasm and love for the state of Arizona, and is so knowledgable about the canyon and its plants and wildlife. The only thing we didnā€™t enjoy was the lunch option. Unfortunately they decided to do a take-out Mc Donaldā€™s for lunch, rather than going to the Mexican restaurant close to the canyon. My friend and I are both vegetarian and donā€™t eat fast food, so sadly we spent the afternoon feeling very hungry. There was also nowhere in the Grand Canyon Park to pick up anything at all to eat, just FYI. Other than that we enjoyed it :)

Thank you for your review. Luckily, things are opening up more and more at the Grand Canyon now. The are not long anymore. And, many of the eating places there are staying open. At the time that you went, we were trying to make lunch as fast as possible to get through the lines as quickly as possible. The eating places in the Grand Canyon closing without notice. We are glad that you enjoyed your day.

It is a 3.5 hour drive to the Grand Canyon from Phoenix, with stops in Sedona. We drove from 6:30am and didnā€™t get to the canyon until around 1pm, only stopping in Sedona for 20 minutes on the way. We stopped 4 times for bathroom breaks, twice at a McDonalds and once just so our driver could get a sandwich even though we were just at a McDonaldā€™s 30 min prior. We took one stop on the way back so Iā€™m not sure why the four were necessary on the way to the sites. The tour states that we would go to the Navajo reservation and stop for a nice Mexican cuisine lunch, we found out once picked up that the lunch was a choice between McDonalds or Subwayā€”if we had known earlier we likely wouldā€™ve brought a better meal. We also learned that we wouldnā€™t see the Navajo reservation and itā€™s been closed since the beginning of COVID, though this wasnā€™t updated at all on the site. The guide, Roger, was nice but really acted more as a driver. When we asked questions he spoke over us or told us to Google the answer, though he talked nonstop on the drive there. We saw wild horses and he drove right past them, didnā€™t slow down for us to see the views. Overall was fine for the views, but I would not recommend this tour to anyone.

Thank you for your review. We notified you by email the day before your tour that we would be unable to visit the Navajo Reservation. Unfortunately, we have no idea when the Grand Canyon will open their East Gate due to COVID. This is on a day to day basis. We normally stop outside of Sedona for pictures. Instead, we did take you into Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon, which are both breathtaking sights. The vast majority of our guests view this as a beautiful tour and a wonderful day. We are sorry you didn't feel the same.

Our driver was Mary and we really enjoyed her. We were picked up at our hotel at 6:45am. There was a quick question screening and temp check. Masks required. We picked up 2 other small groups for a total of 8 passengers. Each group had their own row. The ride was comfortable and there were enough stops for bathroom breaks. The scenery was diverse and beautiful. Mary is very knowledgeable and we learned a lot of fun facts. Sedona Red Rocks was a quick photo opp and then a drive through the quaint town. Itā€™s pretty chilly out so bundle up. We drove through the desert and a beautiful forest. Then to the Grand Canyon where it had snowed. Again it was really cold and there was ice on the walkway so bring the right clothes and shoes. The canyon was beautiful. We visited 3 different vistas and were given an hour to walk around. Another photo opp at the sign on the way out. There was a stop on the way there and back for food. This is a great tour for your first time visiting the area. The Navajo Reservation is temporarily closed.
