It is a 3.5 hour drive to the Grand Canyon from Phoenix, with stops in Sedona. We drove from 6:30am and didnāt get to the canyon until around 1pm, only stopping in Sedona for 20 minutes on the way. We stopped 4 times for bathroom breaks, twice at a McDonalds and once just so our driver could get a sandwich even though we were just at a McDonaldās 30 min prior. We took one stop on the way back so Iām not sure why the four were necessary on the way to the sites.
The tour states that we would go to the Navajo reservation and stop for a nice Mexican cuisine lunch, we found out once picked up that the lunch was a choice between McDonalds or Subwayāif we had known earlier we likely wouldāve brought a better meal. We also learned that we wouldnāt see the Navajo reservation and itās been closed since the beginning of COVID, though this wasnāt updated at all on the site.
The guide, Roger, was nice but really acted more as a driver. When we asked questions he spoke over us or told us to Google the answer, though he talked nonstop on the drive there. We saw wild horses and he drove right past them, didnāt slow down for us to see the views. Overall was fine for the views, but I would not recommend this tour to anyone.

Thank you for your review. We notified you by email the day before your tour that we would be unable to visit the Navajo Reservation. Unfortunately, we have no idea when the Grand Canyon will open their East Gate due to COVID. This is on a day to day basis. We normally stop outside of Sedona for pictures. Instead, we did take you into Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon, which are both breathtaking sights. The vast majority of our guests view this as a beautiful tour and a wonderful day. We are sorry you didn't feel the same.
