Due to the nature of this tour and the safety of all guests, the tour operator reserves the right to refuse service to passengers who are intoxicated or show signs of intoxication. If, as a result, your tour is canceled, you will not be entitled to a refund.
Due to comfort and weight / balance of the aircraft, passengers weighing over 300 lbs (136 kg or 21 stone) will be required to purchase an additional seat. This is payable directly to the tour operator on the day of the tour.
The total combined passenger weight (including pilot) cannot exceed 1240lbs (563kg)

What To Expect

Lake Mead National Recreation Area

Experience the beauty of the Grand Canyon from the air and ground on this helicopter tour from Las Vegas. After being picked up from your hotel approx 90 minutes prior to the flight time listed, you'll be driven to the heliport where you’ll board your air-conditioned Eco-Star helicopter. On your way to the Grand Canyon’s West Rim, soar over Lake Las Vegas and Lake Mead.

Hoover Dam

As you fly over the Hoover Dam, you'll be left in awe at this particularly spectacular sight from the air, curved between the rock canyon walls. Marvel at this architectural wonder and enjoy the amazing views of the recently built bypass bridge. During your flight, you can listen to a recorded commentary about the Grand Canyon and its surrounds via headphones.

Grand Canyon West

As you reach the Grand Canyon and fly deeper and further into the canyon than any other helicopter tour, land on a private bluff overlooking the flowing Colorado River. From this incredible perch over 3,000 feet below the canyon rim, toast to your experience with a glass of Champagne and a light snack. While you celebrate and relax under an authentic Native American ramada shelter, your pilot will be happy to answer any questions you have about the canyon or your helicopter flight.

The Strip

Back in the helicopter, enjoy another 45-minute flight back to Las Vegas, this time flying over the world famous Strip. When you land, your transportation will be waiting to whisk you back to your hotel. We purchased the 4 hour tour of the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam & Strip but the actual tour from pickup to drop off was less than 3 hours. I understand overestimating the pickup & drop off time, but I felt like this was false advertising. The actual tour was slightly less than 3 hours. The pilot and the tour itself was great, but definitely skip the snacks & champagne since you only have 10 minutes or so once you land in the canyon. It all felt way too rush and cut short, which was disappointing with the price we paid. Glad I got to experience the canyon and seeing Vegas via helicopter though, that was good.

We were in Las Vegas and looking for something to do. On a whim, we booked a helicopter tour over the Grand Canyon. I had some questions about the different tours, and the customer service agents I corresponded with on Maverick's website chat were extremely helpful and friendly. The morning of the helicopter ride, we were promptly picked up at our hotel and taken to Maverick's terminal. Check-in was seamless. Our pilot, Rob, went over safety features and gave precise instructions so that everyone would have a great experience. Neither my husband nor I had ever been in a helicopter before, and we were a little nervous. Once we got going, the fear dissipated as we realized how extremely cool a helicopter ride is! It was so interesting to be able to fly so low over the terrain. I have a little anxiety flying in planes, and I really preferred the helicopter ride to a plane ride. We circled around the Hoover Dam to see all the great views, and headed for the Grand Canyon. We landed with a couple of other Maverick helicopters, and all the guests enjoyed champagne and a snack while taking lots of great pictures. On the way back, we took a different route and flew over the Las Vegas strip, which was so cool to see from the air. Rob was a great tour guide, providing us with interesting historical and educational information, but also not talking our ears off. He always made sure everyone was comfortable and provided a great experience. We wanted to give him gratuity after the flight, but we had zero cash at the time (probably lost it all gambling the night before). Sorry Rob! Maverick is definitely your best choice compared to other companies - they have newer helicopters, and they are extremely invested in safety. All in all, I highly recommend this excursion - even if you don't land in the Grand Canyon, or are only flying over the Las Vegas strip, you definitely won't be disappointed!
