Due to the nature of this tour and the safety of all guests, the tour operator reserves the right to refuse service to passengers who are intoxicated or show signs of intoxication. If, as a result, your tour is canceled, you will not be entitled to a refund.
Due to comfort and weight / balance of the aircraft, passengers weighing over 300 lbs (136 kg or 21 stone) will be required to purchase an additional seat. This is payable directly to the tour operator on the day of the tour.
The total combined passenger weight (including pilot) cannot exceed 1240lbs (563kg)
There is a maximum capacity of seven (7) people per helicopter, plus your pilot.
Per FAA regulations, all passengers 18 years and older will be required to show photo ID such as a driver's license or passport at the time of check-in.

What To Expect

Lake Mead National Recreation Area

Experience the beauty of the Grand Canyon from the air and ground on this helicopter tour from Las Vegas. After being picked up from your hotel approx 90 minutes prior to the flight time listed, you'll be driven to the heliport where you’ll board your air-conditioned Eco-Star helicopter. On your way to the Grand Canyon’s West Rim, soar over Lake Las Vegas and Lake Mead.

Hoover Dam

As you fly over the Hoover Dam, you'll be left in awe at this particularly spectacular sight from the air, curved between the rock canyon walls. Marvel at this architectural wonder and enjoy the amazing views of the recently built bypass bridge. During your flight, you can listen to a recorded commentary about the Grand Canyon and its surrounds via headphones.

Grand Canyon West

As you reach the Grand Canyon and fly deeper and further into the canyon than any other helicopter tour, land on a private bluff overlooking the flowing Colorado River. From this incredible perch over 3,000 feet below the canyon rim, toast to your experience with a glass of Champagne and a light snack. While you celebrate and relax under an authentic Native American ramada shelter, your pilot will be happy to answer any questions you have about the canyon or your helicopter flight.

The Strip

Back in the helicopter, enjoy another 45-minute flight back to Las Vegas, this time flying over the world famous Strip. When you land, your transportation will be waiting to whisk you back to your hotel. Please note: Per FAA regulations, all passengers 18 years and older will be required to show photo ID such as a driver's license or passport at the time of check-in.

We first tried having a flight from the South ridge at the Grand Canyon. We booked and paid and just before our flight was due to take off it was cancelled due to bad weather. This was disappointing, but I am happy that they were professional enough to fly only when conditions permitted and not endanger people. The staff were very apologetic. When we arrived in Vegas, we again booked with Maverick Helicopters to fly from Vegas to the Grand Canyon and when they noticed we had booked before, offered a reduction in the price which was greatly appreciated. We were collected in a large van with comfortable seats and taken to the airport where the adventure began. Dave our pilot was informative and pointed out many sites of interest whilst on the flight to the Grand Canyon. The helicopters used have great viewing windows and they change seats around for different parts of the journey which was a bonus. We flew over, then landed in the canyon and had snacks and drinks which was nice. A great professional organisation that make it a special trip.

Your experience will be down to luck and the strangers that book the same flight as you. Your weight in relation to others on the flight will determine whether or not you get a good seat (front 3), an okay seat back outside, or a complete waste of money (inside back row). Apparently, there is nothing you can do beforehand to ensure you get the experience you are paying for. All the staff are very polite and professional - but your seat is assigned by someone else and a computer and cannot be changed. As you can probably guess I was allocated a back middle seat and found the whole experience a complete waste of money. We did the Delux tour on a gloriously sunny day, so with the right seat, it would have been wonderful. The pick up and drop from our hotel was flawless.

We at Maverick Helicopters make safety our top priority and while I understand and empathize with your frustration in regards to the seating situation, we have to be very careful to properly balance the helicopter and all seating arrangements reflect that. I am sorry that you feel that your seats did not provide the best view but we exclusively fly the ECOSTAR helicopter which is the model that provides the optimum views for sightseeing and we do feel we are providing a quality product no matter where you are seated in the aircraft. We had a really great flight. Aaron our pilot was good especially having two of us on the flight that were not the greatest with heights. Trip was smooth nice stopover in Canyon. Great photo opportunities. Trip back over strip was neat too. Would recommend. The only problem we had is that we could not get the dvd from the flight because the data file was corrupted. That was disappointing wanted the keepsake from this tremendous experience.
