The absolute memorable moment was seeing the vehicle show up to pick us up for the venture and not be what was paid for. I paid for a VIP private experience which included transport in a Mercedes sprinter or a Luxury SUV... I got a Pacifica mini van. Had all members of my group attended, there would not have been enough room to accommodate and I would have cancelled right then and there. Leg room was still limited/cramped. I have been trying to reach someone from the office via text (which is how they communicated days prior to) and via phone hoping to come to some sort of resolve. Not surprised, but definitely disappointed that I have yet to receive a response with any type of acknowledgement or effort to try to make this right, except from the Driver (apologizing on the companies behalf), whom absolutely has nothing to do with those decisions. I am not looking for anything for free, but I most certainly expect to receive what I paid for... To make this right, I am expecting at minimum an adjustment to my $2400 bill. I made the reservation for this experience in mid-late April.. the excursion was Sept. 28th. No excuses as to not having the correct vehicle.
As far as the actual trip goes... we leave heading to south rim Grand Canyon... the first stop which is about 35 mins outside of Las Vegas for what was suppose to be a quick breakfast stop. We stop at this small restaurant/bar. As we walk in it looks like a little hole in the wall spot. No judgement, cuz Ive had a ball at some of those off-beat places. What got me though, was I asked to use the rest room and Im told they are closed and we would be stopping again in about another 40 mins. Looking at the driver like she was crazy.. Of course I used the facilities there, ...initially thinking that something may be inoperable (a sink or a toilet.. definitely not the entire thing). I later found out, they close the facilities off because they become to overwhelmed with the amount of traffic flow that's associated with the tour company's frequency of buses and stops...Note to Tour company (don't know what kind of a deal you got worked with this place, but seems like you need to find somewhere else that can really accommodate larger groups at one time) The food (which we took to vehicle) was edible is the best I can say.. I definitely was expecting something different. 2nd stop was to get gas and bathroom break. I ask to stop at one place and told we have to stop at another..all in the same vicinity. Now since it's a private tour I was under the impression the stops could be tailored to our needs/asks as long as we stayed on schedule and of course within reason. Stopping at a gas station that was a few businesses down, on the same side of the street, etc I didn't think was an unreasonable ask. ( A national chain, but much bigger facility vs what looked to be a mom and pop location of a national chain). We finally get to the canyon and it is truly amazing.. Mother Nature did her thang. We decide to leave early to head back which gave us approx 2 hours of time to play with, so I ask could we stop at the Hoover Dam as we literally had to pass the entrance to get back to Vegas. If there was any additional cost for entrance I would gladly pay since this would be an extra stop. The driver sends a message to the office, since no one would pick up the phone, it takes over 1 hour for a response... and Management says it would be dark by the time we reached there... and when asked if that was a yes or no to stopping, they finally say no. At this point it's about 5:30p and still plenty of daylight when we reach the dam (approx a little over an hour away from the strip). Now again, we are riding in this cramped mini van that is suppose to be a luxury SUV at min. This was the opportunity to make an attempt to make up for their mistake,.... and I still had not gotten a response back from my messages sent at 6a when the driver initially showed up. So as we continue to drive, our driver asks if we would like to put a dinner order in from the same place breakfast was from. We say no, let's just get back to vegas, maybe one more stop for rest break/stretch legs, but definitely nothing from that place. As we get closer, she asks again. The answer still the same.. NO. Then Im told that even if we didn't want anything she had to stop there. Still unclear as to the reason why. It wasn't a long stop, but definitely unnecessary... oh yeah, it was still day lite then too.
I will definitely say that our driver was very knowledgeable about the canyon and the area. But was it worth that amount of money.. absolutely not. Though some things may seem small, they can make all the difference in the world.
Viator I need someone to contact me regarding this matter for a resolution please!
