What To Expect

Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone

Your expert guide will meet you at the Pavilion next to the Upper Falls Parking Area at 8AM. This is also the staring point for Uncle Tom's Trail. The hike is a 6-mile loop. The hike is along the Canyon Rim, through the forest out to Ribbon Lake, and then past a geyser basin, Clear Lake, and the Wapiti Meadows with big views of the Hayden Valley. If you hike one trail in Yellowstone this is it!

This hike was an awesome way to see some very beautiful parts of the park. Kim made the experience a great one with the knowledge of the park she shared with us and the stories.

Josh, our guide was a delightful person who was very considerate of everyone's needs. His expertise of Yellowstone added a lot of depth to the experience. This hike was through some of the most pristine wilderness I've seen. There was no end to the magnificence of the views. Lunch was excellent! Eating by Ribbon Lake was even better.

Family of 4 hiked the Canyon and loop with our Guide Kim. Kim did a great job keeping us informed along the hike. All of us really enjoyed the experience. We were ready to eat lunch in the Hayden Valley when we heard a loud growl over a hillside. Kim remained calm and explained why we needed to leave the area immediately! Thank you Kim! We highly recommend this hike.
