Your expert guide will meet you at the Pavilion next to the Upper Falls Parking Area at 8AM. This is also the staring point for Uncle Tom's Trail. The hike is a 6-mile loop. The hike is along the Canyon Rim, through the forest out to Ribbon Lake, and then past a geyser basin, Clear Lake, and the Wapiti Meadows with big views of the Hayden Valley. If you hike one trail in Yellowstone this is it!

We saw a lot, and learned a lot from the guided hike we took with Yellowstone Hiking Guides. Our guide was Ms. Hoover. She was fun, energetic, and a walking resource about the park and its flora and wildlife. She led our group over several terrains during the 6-hour hike (south rim, thermal area, forest, and meadows. It was a terrific hike and I would highly recommend her.

We had a great time on our hike around the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone! Our guide, Hoover, was great. She met us at the parking lot of Uncle Toms Trail and was on time and ready to get started! Throughout the hike, she taught us a ton about the park, wildlife and was a great storyteller. The views were absolutely incredible and the hike offered a great variety of landscape from huge waterfalls to really cool geothermal features. The lunch and snacks she provided were yummy and much appreciated! I will say, if you are in decent shape and looking for a workout that gets your heart rate up and burns some calories, perhaps is a bit of a challenge, this is not the hike for you. We made A LOT of stops so it kind of felt more like a stroll through the park but obviously the guides have to accommodate for all ability levels and thereā€™s just so much information to share. So while a bit disappointed that we didnā€™t get a better workout, we had a great time, learned a lot and would definitely recommend!

We really enjoyed the South Rim hike with Marissa. She was a fantastic guide and the hike was a marvelous mix of amazing canyon views, a forest hike, and a walk through an active thermal zone. All that, and lunch, too, in six hours. Marissa was enthusiastic, informative, and always made sure that everyone in the group was comfortable. A real highlight of our trip to Yellowstone NP.
