The train can accommodate a motorized scooter if it is no wider than 25 inches. There is a special lift to lift the scooter onto the train.

This package is everything it's reported to be and more. From the moment we boarded the car that we had been assigned, to the time we stepped off the train upon return to Williams, AZ, the whole experience added a very special element for travel to the Grand Canyon. My wife and I were pleased with our choice of the Luxury Dome car (one of two, it appeared on this day) for a very comfortable and entertaining few hours to the canyon and back. There are lesser options (such as the "Coach" cars), but I highly recommend the dome car or the first class car if your budget allows. Rest assured that the timetable allows for almost four hours (in the high season period that ends October 31) for enjoying the park and marveling at the canyon from various vistas, and shortens to three hours or so during the slower season. I found that short hikes, shopping and eating lunch was very manageable in that amount of time. Although this was a train ticket + lodging package, I will separate my thoughts about the Grand Canyon Hotel to a separate review.

A lovely day out by train to the Grand Canyon South Rim. It was great to leave the car behind and not worry about driving. We chose the first class option and this suited us perfectly. The seating was comfortable, not crowded and there was room to move around up and down the carriage. The staff were great, friendly, fun and welcoming. Sharon regaled us with amusing stories and interesting facts about the area and history of the railway. A wonderful day out.

We purchased a package that included 2 nights at the hotel 2 breakfasts, 2 dinners, a return trip to the Grand Canyon (approx 2 hours each way) and a bus trip at the Canyon. The hotel is excellent spacious high quality and clean. The meals are superb and the trips were so much fun. The entire package was great value for money. I cannot emphasize enough how this is just the best experience we have had in years. If you are thinking of visiting the Canyon please consider this you won't regret it.
