The train ride is ok but there is nothing to see on the ride up to the grand canyon where I wish I would had driven up and back. We left Sedona at 7:15am to make the train and arrived in at the Grand Canyon around 11:45am. After grabbing some very good lunch at the El Tovar, we admired the beauty of this creation and now have to wait for 2 hours to leave…definitely driving next time.

Kokopelli seat 17C and 17D Oct 6th instruction over load speaker, could not understand the girl or the man giving us directions or whatever they were saying. I went down from observation car and told her we could not hear her. the second time I said anything the girl did come upstairs to talk to us, but she was in the front and we could not hear her, even thou she was 8 rows in front of us. you need to fix the sound system because we didnt understand any directions given over speakers. the couple sitting 17 A & B, I asked them if they could hear and they said no. Information is one of the main reason for taking train and YOU FAILED!!!!!!!!! Dont forget the filthy windows that make it hard to see through I got new hearing aids earlier this year

From start to finish the experience was fantastic, the cowboy show before the train was very entertaining, the host on our carriage ( Tom Hanks) was fabulously entertaining the whole journey, and informative about everything from the trees to the canyon, the cowboys who arrived later were fabulous too, I traveled with my husband and 2 friends as it was my husbands birthday. He was delighted with his birthday surprise. I would highly recommend this trip. You get dropped at the south rim of the canyon which is fantastic and can access busses to tour round the various viewpoints and spend a few hrs in the grand canyon village before return journey
