We had a great experience with Sweet Tours/GC Tours to the South Rim. The prepackaged meals worked really well, which allowed us to have a full 3 hours at the Grand Canyon. Our ā€œtransportation specialistā€ Walter was outstanding and made the long journey an unforgettable experience. Walter was funny, entertaining, highly knowledgable and took pride in his duty. Although it is a really long day, I highly recommend this tour. Thanks to Walter for providing a memorable tour that we will never forget!

Our day began promptly on time, with our bus for the day. We travelled to a mall to meet with other passengers and an additional driver. Things appeared to be a little confusing and our new guide seemed a little abrupt with some new passengers. We travelled on to the Hoover Dam for photo opportunities. Our next stop was in Kingman for a rest stop and our guide/driver instead of saying be back at a specific time she said 10-15 min which of course dragged on longer, then she kept saying we were late. We had a new driver come on board to ensure drive time hours were not exceeded. Luana remained with us giving instruction to the new driver, and because we were close to the front of the bus, we heard at times she suggested to her to take inappropriate actions in driving which the driver did not do. Unfortunately we felt our guide Luana, just wanted to get through her day. At times we could not understand her as she was speaking so quickly and sounded like she was speaking from a script and just had to get it out. There was very limited interaction with the group and no humour, unlike other guides our friends had had with this company. She said she has been doing this for 17 years and we thought that maybe it's time for her to retire. The box lunches were Ok, plenty of bottled warm water, and understand stopping for a buffet would have just made the day longer. We were back at our resort by 10 pm. Overall the buses were new, do have washroom facilities and were clean. We enjoyed the full 3 hours at the Grand Canyon but our driver put a sour taste in our mouth.

We did the South Rim tour which also had stops at the Hoover Dam and Route 66. The tour was very informative between our tour guide Wally (who was awesome!) as well as some of the DVDs they'd play on the way to and from our destinations. We left Vegas around 7am and got back to the Strip around 10pm. We had 3 hrs to walk around the South Rim. There was never a dull moment on the bus and there was always a story or DVD to pass the time, so I'd say it's well worth it.
